Sanibel Island Fishing

Print

Fishing is slowly returning to the areas surrounding Pine Island and Sanibel. Redfish have started to show themselves on the edges of bars at low tide, but have been finicky to bite. For weeks we haven't seen a Redfish, so it's great to see even a few. Sea Trout are moving back to the grass flats and have been our primary target. I have spent the past two weeks chasing the Trout in Upper Pine Island Sound, drifting over the pot holes and grass. Most of the fish have been 15 to 18 inches, with one over 20 inches on most trips.                                                                   Next week I am going to spend some time in lower Matlacha and see if the Redfish are moving back to their oyster bar and flats.

Call to book your trip, I guarantee no SNOW on all 2010 fishing trips!
