The first weak cold fronts are moving thru Southwest Florida this week. The days are a little shorter and the mornings are cooler. I've been on the lookout for the fall arrival of Spanish Mackrel, Pompano, and maybe Kingfish. Redfish are getting ready to migrate offshore, leaving smaller redfish to spend the winter growing up without the adults. The Snook are feeding as the spawn is over, they are fattening up for the winter. This is the time of year to catch most of your favorite species, you just have to plan to get out there!. call today to book your adventure. Captain Dave

Captiva Beach Fishing
October brings the hope of cooler weather but has yet to deliver more than a few degrees of relief in the mornings. The east winds have been perfect for fishing the passes and the beaches. As the Fall comes in, the rains will subside, bringing clearer waters. We will be sight fishing snook on the beach for the next month and then we will be fishing for Mackerel and Pompano. Always something to catch and some beautiful weather to enjoy. Call today to book !. 239-410-7194

Captiva fishing
The summer is blazing on through July and August. I'm taking August off to catch up on some inside air conditioning and a few vacation trips. The fishing is good for our area, no red tide around Sanibel island or Captiva island. Snook, Trout, and redfish are all biting. The mangrove snapper bite has been steady inshore. September I will be back to work and looking forward to the fall.
The boat will be at a local shop getting a new EVA floor soon. I love the cushion and non-slip that the flooring provides. A new bimini is on the Avenger to give more shade during the hot days. Thanks for checking in!, Captain Dave

Spring fishing Sanibel and Captiva
The Fishing around Sanibel and Captiva is better after no red tide for almost 3 years. Catch and release for Snook, Trout, and Redfish have helped improve the population. The fish are getting bigger, some are breeding size. The FWC is taking comments as we approach the May 31t end date for the closed season. I support an extension to the closed season. This would allow more time for the fish to grow thru the slot and reestablish the numbers of large egg-laying females. I am targeting snapper near shore and Spanish mackerel for eating. Folks are booking out early and making up for last year's travel restrictions, book early!. I have April filled and May is almost full. Call, Text, or e-mail to book. Capt. Dave
